Are you eligible for a Tax Refund?

If you can answer YES to any of these questions, there’s a good chance you could be due a tax refund. In the last 6 years have you…

Had more than one job in the same tax year?

Paid subscriptions to a professional organisation?

Used your own car as part of your job?

Been required to work from home some, or all of the time?

Been required to provide tools for your job?

Been required to launder workwear provided by your employer?

Received more than one notice of coding within a tax year ?

We operate a No refund – no fee basis. And if you are due a refund, our commission (15% of the tax refund) will only be deducted once the refund is secured. We will liaise with HM Revenue & Customs throughout the whole process, keeping you fully informed along the way. The process usually takes about 6 weeks and depends on the number of years we claim for you.

We will need you to send us all relevant P45s and P60s together with P11D forms and details of the expenses you wish to claim against the employment income. Call Bright Accounting in Tonbridge now to discuss your claim and how to get started.

In the very unlikely event that we discover you have not paid enough tax, we will inform you. It is then up to you to notify HM Revenue & Customs.

Don’t get caught out by the HMRC

The following provides information on who has to file a Tax Return

Employed

Working through the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)

A Director of a Limited Company

A higher income earner (fall in the 40% tax band)

Receive income from land or property in the UK

Received a Notice to file a tax return from HMRC

The constant changes to tax legislation means not only that the returns are becoming even more difficult to understand but also that taxpayers risk incurring more penalties through failing to complete their returns on time or correctly.

We can save you time, worry, and money by handling your self assessment for you. We will do all the necessary computations, complete your return, and even offer advice on how you can minimise your tax liability.
We can act as your agent, dealing directly with HM Revenue & Customs on your behalf and, should you be selected for a self assessment enquiry, act for you at any meetings.

If you’re trying to decide if the Limited company route is right for you, here are some of the benefits on offer…

Tax savings

By becoming a limited company you are more than likely going to pay less personal tax than a sole trader. By taking a small salary plus dividends from the limited company you will not be liable to NIC.

Professional

In some businesses and industries, having a limited company can provide a more professional image. If you are doing business with larger companies, you may find that they prefer to deal only with limited companies rather than sole traders or partnerships.

Limited liability

Your assets and the limited company’s assets are separate. The liability of the directors and shareholders in relation to the company is limited.

Naming

Once you register your limited company with Companies House, your company name is protected by law. No-one else can use the same name as you, or anything deemed to be too similar.

As a sole trader, it’s possible someone else could trade under the same name as you, and you couldn’t do anything about it. This could damage your business, and in some cases, result in you having to go through the costly and time-consuming effort of changing the name of your business.

Pension contributions

A limited company can fund its employees’ executive pensions as a legitimate business expense. This can offer a tax advantage over those who are running their business as self-employed.

If you want a free consultation to talk this through please contact Bright Accounting and we’ll help you make the decision that’s right for you.

We offer a comprehensive range of packages from just £75 a month.
